My teaching experience spans several disciplines, including social anthropology, ethnomusicology, African Studies, peace studies and global studies. I have been privileged to teach and learn alongside students in the UK, Somaliland, and Canada.

At Cambridge, I have supervised both undergraduate and MPhil dissertations in social anthropology and African Studies, and I have contributed to the following courses (either through supervising, leading seminars, or delivering lectures)

In Somaliland, I have worked at several universities, including the University of Hargeysa, Franz Fanon University and Marodijeh University, where I have taught peace studies and academic reading and writing skills. I have developed and taught the following courses:
  • Foundations in Peace and Conflict Studies (for postgraduate diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies at UoH)
  • Theories in Peace and Conflict Studies (for MA in Peace and Conflict Studies at UoH)
  • Reading and Writing for Academic Contexts (for postgraduate students at various universities)
 
In Canada, I have worked as an adjunct lecturer and tutorial leader in the Global Studies Department at Wilfrid Laurier University and at the University of Waterloo, where I have contributed to the following courses:
